Congratulations to Sally Hamshem the winner of our winter warmer competition. Sally will be enjoying a delicious meal at one of Jamie’s Fifteen restaurants.
The winning recipe is Apple Amaretti Crumble, a simple but delicious dish that everyone can try. Preparing the apples is made quicker and easier by using the Twist ‘n’ Slide Apple Corer so why not give it a go!
Ingredients:
- 725g sweet apples (cored, peeled and chopped into 1cm slices)
- Zest of one lemon (or half depending on your taste)
- 2 tbsp runny honey (generous spoons!)
- 4 tbsp water
- 100g plain flour
- 60g unsalted butter
- 50g Demerara sugar
- 50g Amaretti biscuits (crushed)
Serves 6
Preheat oven to 190°C (gas mark 5)
Mix apples with lemon zest, honey and water in an oven-proof dish. For the topping, rub the butter with the flour and sugar to resemble breadcrumbs, then stir in the crushed biscuits. Spread the topping over the fruit mixture. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden.
